Fishing in the park, enjoying a high school baseball game and eating at Mexican food trucks are just a few of the slices of life you can find in a summer day in southwest Denver.

Phoenix Shelton, 12, fished at Harvey Park - the only place he can go to fish without his parents worrying about where he is, he said. Shelton said he fishes there during the summer and most of the year, and he sees turtles in the lake as well.

Here are a few snapshots of what you might see in this part of the city.
