Denver Lyric Opera Guild's signature event kicks off in February at Calvary Baptist Church. Join us for this FREE and entertaining event - February 15th Master Class, 9-4:30; March 7th Preliminaries, 9-5; March 21st Finals, 1-5. Founded in 1965, Denver Lyric Opera Guild’s purpose is to encourage and support young singers and provide continuing education to the members in the appreciation and knowledge of opera. The Competition for Colorado Singers supports singers ages 23-32 in pursuing their operatic careers. Participating singers represent all major Colorado university and young artist opera programs. Since then, the Guild has awarded $815,400 to the over 450 young singers who have successfully pursued their operatic and musical careers since winning the Competition.
The Master Class provides singers valuable critiques to improve their performance and style of presentation. At the March 7th Preliminaries, a panel of judges from the world of opera select the 15 finalists, while at the March 21st Finals, another set of judges selects the ten winners.
Guests may come and go – or stay all day.
